I found refuge, long ago, in worlds built from magic, courage, and the fierce will to survive against impossible odds.

Those worlds never left me — they became the stories I write today: heroes and heroines fighting free of their limits to claim the destinies waiting for them.

My goal is simple, and never quite finished: to bring these characters and their worlds to life as faithfully as I first imagined them, and hand their journeys to you.

Some things resist being put into words. I keep trying anyway, book after book.

I write from New York's Hudson Valley, caught between the ancient hush of the Adirondack forests and the restless pulse of New York City. That contrast feeds my imagination — and I spend my days chasing down the stories it hands me.
